2019 WORDPRESS GLOBAL COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIP: How much for priceless!?

WordPress Global Community Sponsorship Program is probably the most important initiative and program in the WordPress ecosystem. This year “angels guardians” of WordPress community are Jetpack, WooCommerce, Bluehost, Liquid Web, GoDaddy, GreenGeeks and Dreamhost.

There are three types of WordPress Global Community Sponsorships. Gold Community Sponsors, Silver Community Sponsors, and Bronze Community Sponsors.

Jetpack, WooCommerce, Bluehost, Liquid Web, GoDaddy, GreenGeeks and Dreamhost are the companies of the WordPress ecosystem of the highest quality which are also the biggest market stakeholders. It is satisfying to see that they perceive their role in the global WordPress community in the right way.

We are publishing here several things like how much money is contributed to the WordPress Global Community Program 2019, how much money each company contributed to the program and how much every type of sponsorship (Gold, Silver, Bronze) contributed to the total sum.

Also, we are trying to point out the “par excellence” value and importance of this program for the global WordPress community, but also the importance of a very good and right attitude and philosophy of the leaders of the WordPress ecosystem and community.

The WordPress Global Community Sponsorship Program is a highly and strategically important program for the development of WordPress, for active building and progressive acceleration of the WordPress ecosystem.

Companies that sponsor WordPress community events are helping volunteer-organized local events provide free or low-cost access for attendees, as stated on the WordPress blog.

WordPress community events strengthen, inspire, and connect the community that builds and maintains WordPress. The honest approach and serious community philosophy of the leaders of the WordPress ecosystem are crucial for the quality of the future strategic development of WordPress.

The WordPress Global Community Program is having a territorial concept, Western (Region A) and Eastern (Region B). Region A includes North, Central, and South America and region B includes Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Jetpack, WooCommerce, and Bluehost are companies that took positions in both regions. These companies are taking positions of a Gold sponsor in region A and a Silver sponsor in region B. GoDaddy is a Silver sponsor in both regions.

Liquid Web is the Gold sponsor in region A and GreenGeeks is a Silver sponsor in region A. Dreamhost is also in region A as a Bronze sponsor.

Then we have Bluehost with 285.000 dollars contributed and LiquidWeb goes after Bluehost with 200.000 dollars. GoDaddy contributed 185.000, GreenGeeks 100.000 and Dreamhost 55.000 dollars.

The total amount collected is 1.475.000 dollars.

The WordPress Global Community is!?

The WordPress contributor community is made up of developers, designers, writers, photographers, freelancers, agency professionals, and hobbyists, many of whom gather regularly around the world at locally-organized monthly and annual events. Official WordPress community events are exclusively volunteer-organized, and each reflects the interests and expertise of the local community.

In 2018, groups in the WordPress chapter program met over 4,700 times, and local communities organized 143 annual conferences, which we call WordCamps, officials stated.

What’s a “WordCamp”!?

WordCamp is the annual conference for local WordPress communities; it’s a casual, non-commercial, educational event about WordPress. Events range from intimate 50-person unconferences to multi-track conferences attended by over 2,000.

Conference session topics include WordPress development, design, business, social media integration, blogging, and marketing.

WordCamp tickets are sold at an extremely low price ($20 USD per person, per day) so that events are accessible to people of any financial background.

What’s a “meetup”!?

WordPress meetups are locally-organized user groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis to discuss WordPress (commonly once a month). These events take many formats: presentations/lecture series, hackathons, social gatherings, workshops, coworking, running a WordPress help desk, contributor sprints/drives, and others.

Groups hosted on meetup.com can become an official WordPress chapter group and receive financial and organizational support from the WordPress Community team.
